Things aren’t going well for Ms. Klatt:

A former Concord school teacher accused of having sex with a student was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday.

Janet Klatt, 44, who taught at the private Cannon School, faces charges of sexual offense against a child after police say she had sex with a 16-year-old student in a hotel room while on a school-sponsored overnight field trip in Raleigh.

Just weeks ago, police say she committed the same crime with the same student in the parking lot of a Concord restaurant.

Klatt pleaded not guilty.

Janet Klatt is a 44 year old World History teacher from Charlotte. She’s facing multiple charges:

Last week, Janet Klatt, 44, of Charlotte, was arrested in Raleigh for allegedly having sex with the student while on an overnight field trip last month. She was charged with sexual activity between a school personnel member and a student, a felony offense.

The latest charge, Concord police said, stems from an incident that occurred earlier this month with the same student in the parking lot of a Concord restaurant.

Klatt is from Zimbabwe oddly enough, and no longer teaches. Her former place of employment wouldn’t say whether she was fired or left on her own.
