You kind of have to feel for this woman, not because she might be innocent (I have no idea), but because she was arrested on Thanksgiving:

Danielle Walls, the San Diego area teacher accused of a bunch of things (sleeping with students, providing them with drugs and alcohol, etc.), was sentenced recently. Walls had pled guilty back in July, and prosecutors say she slept with the 16 year old student 10-25 times at a variety of local hotels. Her sentence:

On Tuesday, Walls was sentenced to one year in jail and will also be on probation for five years. Walls had faced up to five years and six months in prison. She could have been sentenced to as much as 16 years in prison if she had been convicted of all the original charges.

Danielle apologized before sentencing, saying that “at the time of the incidents, she felt that her life didn’t matter”. Pretty sad situation, but really a year isn’t too bad, not when you consider how salacious were the details of this particular case.

Monica Rae Gonzalez is a 35 year old teacher at Arroyo High School in California. She’s been charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child and two counts of child annoyance:

An English teacher at Arroyo High School has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 17-year-old male student.

Gonzalez, who authorities said is married and has taught at the school eight years, was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child and two counts of child annoyance, all misdemeanors.

Sgt. Ken Butler said Gonzalez was arrested after a five-week investigation. She is free on bail and has been placed on leave.

Danielle Walls has pled guilty. She’ll be sentenced on September 26th:

A 27-year-old former Clairemont High School history teacher pleaded guilty Wednesday to having unlawful sexual intercourse with one of her male students two years ago and plying him with cocaine and alcohol.

Danielle Marie Walls faces a sentence ranging from probation to 5 1/2 years in state prison when she is sentenced Sept. 26 by San Diego Superior Court Judge Frank Brown.

“The sad thing is you had a bright future. That’s gone,” the judge told the defendant, who remains free on $65,000 bail pending sentencing.

But Brown commended Walls for admitting guilt at an early stage to avoid putting the victim and his family — who reported her to police — through any further ordeal.

The victim was in Walls’ 10th-grade history class in 2004, a time when the defendant was an “out-of-control cocaine fiend,” Moring said earlier.

Walls had apparently been working as a real estate agent since losing her teaching position.

Small amount of good news for Ichord:

A Woodland high school teacher accused of having sex with a male student is free on bail after being arraigned in a Yolo County court.

Anne Ichord is charged with six felony charges alleging she had unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation with a person under the age of 18. Her lawyer said she was innocent of the charges.

Ann Miller is a teacher and … uh … wrestling coach from Bakersfield, California. She has the distinction of being the first female wrestling coach that I’ve ever heard of.

She’s also charged with one count of performing a lewd and lascivious act on a child. She was recently offered a plea deal by prosecutors:

The District Attorney’s office offered former math teacher and wrestling coach Ann Miller a sentence of two years in exchange for pleading guilty to one count of performing a lewd and lascivious act on a child.

Miller still hasn’t been fired by the school district; as of now she’s on unpaid administrative leave.

MySpace, as it so often does in these cases, plays a role:

Myspace.com is a website used by people of all ages to communicate with others and share pictures and information, but what was found on the website under Ann Miller’s name could be troubling to some parents.

Miller was arrested Wednesday on a felony count of lewd acts with a 15-year-old boy.

On her website, there were pictures of Miller in provocative positions and comments.

On one picture titled “who needs boys?,” a person claiming to be a 15-year-old boy posted a comment saying, “You always need boys to have a real party.”

On another picture labeled “Going out,” the same boy responded by saying, “Why didn’t you take me?”

Elsie Rodriguez is a 32 year old middle school teacher from Las Flores, California in Orange County. She’s been arrested on charges of child annoyance:

Las Flores Middle School teacher Elsie Cathy Rodriguez’s friendship with a 13-year-old student started off routinely enough, in an after-school club preparing kids to run the Los Angeles Marathon.

Her relationship with the southern Orange County boy eventually became closer, however, and included rendezvous in an apartment complex hot tub, conversations about sex and hundreds of cellphone text messages, according to investigators for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

It ended in May, when Rodriguez was arrested on suspicion of child annoyance, suspended from teaching at the school near Mission Viejo, and ordered to stay away from the boy, now 15.

So Rodriguez isn’t technically charged with any crime of physical contact with the kid. But police think she was “grooming” him for a relationship:

Although prosecutors do not allege that Rodriguez had a physical relationship with the boy, whose identity is being withheld by The Times, they say the teacher was on the verge of initiating one.

“We believe she was grooming him,” said Deputy Dist. Atty. Heather Brown, declining to comment further.

The kid’s father had obtained a restraining order against Rodriguez before her arrest, which suggests that things got well out of hand.

Rodriguez’s attorney blames the allegations on Rodriguez’s estranged husband:

Stokke blames the allegations on Rodriguez’s estranged husband Christopher Nils Connolly, who he said was “disgruntled.”

He also said the boy and his father were friends of Connolly’s.

When Connolly met the boy shortly before the March 2005 marathon, he learned that the teen’s father lived in the same Aliso Viejo apartment complex as Connolly and Rodriguez, and the teen stayed there every other week, according to the statement.

After the marathon, Connolly wrote that he noticed increased contact between his wife and the student — trips to the complex’s hot tub, car rides alone — and grew increasingly disturbed by it, according to the statement.

“It started to bother me very much, and [I] commented to her that it was not normal for a 31-year-old woman, never mind schoolteacher, to be having this amount of contact with a minor,” he wrote in the statement.

Rodriguez also apparently kept a journal, which had some pretty damaging entries:

Entries in the teacher’s journal, filed in court when Rodriguez unsuccessfully sought a restraining order against Connolly, alleging that he was harassing her, describe graphic sexual fantasies about other students.

When I started this site, I worried that I’d eventually run out of material. I’ve since realized that there’s no real danger of that happening any time soon. I’d like to thank people like Elizabeth Ann Miller for that.

Miller is a high school teacher (math) at Highland High School in Bakersfield, California, and she’s accused of performing sexual acts on a 15 year old. Her attorney would like for people to hold off on jumping to conclusions:

Miller’s attorney, Gael Mueller, is urging the community not to jump to early conclusions about the case. “Just don’t prejudge,�? she said.

“Let’s wait and see what the charges are all about and what the allegations are all about,�? Mueller said.

The evil MySpace was involved:

Investigators said Miller also had chats of a sexual nature with the teen on Myspace.com and Yahoo Instant Messenger.

Miller’s out on bail, but she’ll be back in court on July 5. I’m sure we’ll revisit her case then.

Danielle Walls is a 27 year old history teacher at Clairemont High School, in California. She’s accused of sexually assaulting a 16 year old student at Clairemont:

According to police, Danielle Walls, 27, was a history teacher at Clairemont High School at the time of the alleged sexual assaults, which authorities said involved a 16-year-old boy who attended the school. Officials said the sexual assaults took place between April and December 2004.

San Diego media has done something that I find quite hilarious with this case. They’ve been extensively gathering student reaction:

“She was more like a sister to a lot of the girls,” one female student told NBC 7/39.

Student Alexandra Apaldetti said the allegations disgusted her.

“That’s just gross and, wow, that’s out there,” said Apaldetti. “That’s a shocker.”

That’s from NBCSanDiego. This is from 10news.com:

One student said, “If somebody had a party, she (Walls) would be there.�?

Some of Walls’ former students said she didn’t always act like a teacher.

“She was all over the guys. She didn’t talk to the girls, just the guys,�? said senior Mayra Valero.

“Everybody says ‘Miss Walls is fine’�? said one male student.

Another student said, “Yeah, he’s underage but he’s old enough to know wrong and right.�?

“They know what they wanted to do and they did it,�? said another student.

One male student said he believes the victim was lucky.

Other students said whether the teacher is male or female, it is wrong.

“They’re teacher and student. The teacher has power either way,�? said student Luigi Assenti.

If you ever needed further evidence of how sensationalistic media coverage of these things has become then those above quotes ought to prove it to you.

Meanwhile, Walls’ legal team is claiming that the 16 year old tried to blackmail her:

An attorney representing a former Clairemont High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student said Friday the boy tried to blackmail her for $10,000.

Attorney Gretchen von Helms was hired by 27-year-old Danielle Walls.

Von Helms says the accuser’s MySpace.com profile reveals a lot about his character. One picture posted on the site shows the young man and his friends with beer bottles. Another picture shows the alleged victim with a glass in his hand, and the caption reads ‘rum and coke.’

Several pictures show the young man flipping off the camera, and one shows him wearing a t-shirt that reads ‘Life of Crime – West Side.’

“You have to look really hard at this case — these allegations are two years old, they are now being made by an adult male,” von Helms said.

“The pictures of him on that MySpace page are not very flattering, and so you have to kind of question what type of person this is making these allegations, and therefore how strong these allegations are,” she added.

“There have been allegations that he and or his sister have been trying to extort my client and her family members and try to get money out of them and when that didn’t fly they went to the authorities,” she said.

The attorney says she has information that Walls and her sister were asked to pay somewhere in the realm of $10,000, or the accuser was going to the police.

And this is hilarious:

News 8 received a picture in an e-mail that claims to show Walls with a former student at a party. Walls appears to be holding an unusual sort of pipe.

I’ll tell you this right now: America might better know the names of Debra Lafave, Mary Kay Letourneau, and Pamela Rogers, but this case kicks all their asses. Danielle Walls for the win ladies and gentlemen.

The prosecutor in the case has an interesting opinion of Ms. Walls:

First sex, now drugs — new charges are filed against a teacher accused of having sex with a student.

Walls not only had sex with the boy 10 to 25 times at four or five hotels around the county, Deputy District Attorney Dwayne Moring alleged, she also gave him drugs and alcohol. The student was 16 years old in 2004 when the the incidents allegedly took place.

“During that time, the defendant was an out-of-control coke fiend,” Moring said. “She furnished the victim with cocaine and alcohol.”

Danielle Walls is awesome. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Anne Ichord is a 32 year old teacher from California. She’s facing charges of carrying on a sexual relationship with one of her students:

History teacher Anne Ichord, 32, faces several charges, including four counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

Police said that Ichord and the student had sex several times both on and off Pioneer High School’s campus in Woodland, Calif., which is near Sacramento.
