Christine McCallum
29-year old Boston area elementary school teacher Christine A. McCallum has been accused of raping a 13-year old boy over 300 times.
The affair began when McCallum was tuturoing the victims younger brother at a library. She reportedly spent a lot of time with the two boys, as they were being raised by a single father and “She tried to mother the child because she felt sorry for them,” says her lawyer, Frederick McDermott. She reportedly let them stay at her house, fed them dinner and gave them rides.
McCallum reportedly gave the young boy alcoholic drinks, including vodka and rum. According to reports the relatsionship turned sexual in February 2006, when McCallum had sex with the boy on her own couch, while her husband was upstairs sleeping.
The Feb. 7 incident was the start of a long affair, where the boy states they had sex approximately every other day for a total of about 300 times. McCallum reportedly ended the affair in November 2007 when she became jealous that he was using the cell phone that she had given him to text other girls. They had sex for the last time, and they tearfully exchanged I love yous, according to reports.
McCallum sent the boy 10 love letters, in which she told him she would choose him over her job. In a MySpace message, she reportedly admitted that she was unable to control herself around him.
McCallum, who was called “obsessed” by prosecutors, was released after being charged on the seven counts of statutory rape. She must wear a GPS ankle band, and has been fired from her teaching position.
McCallum’s husband was by her side at her court appearance. The couple has been married for 5 years.

Its tragic that this woman’s life will be ruined over this. The boy was not the best choice for a lover, but its doubtful he was harmed by her. Don’t they have any thieves or murderers up there?
some kids will not have sex until their late 20s, I consider this kid to be lucky, because he got a chance early, and now he knows how to please an older woman, he’ll have great luck with the ones his age

Just wondering what would have happened had the situation been reversed? If the adult was a male and the juvenile was female – wonder if the male would have basically been given a slap on the wrist? And if so how long till ugly feminist bitches like Gloria Allred would complain. How come we don’t get equality in these sentences – women should get the SAME punishment as men
It is an admittedly serious issue, but to be quite perfectly frank it does usually seem to be women who have a very difficult time understanding the inherent difference between this type of an offense and that of a a young girl being molested by an older man. The problems for the child resulting from the former are I can assure you from personal experience on average almost completely insignificant in comparison to the latter.
Nonetheless there is obviously nothing even remotely acceptable about any of it, and nor should it be taken lightly.
