Kathy Miraglia is a 35 year old counselor from Lake in the Hills, Illinois. She had worked at Hillside Academy, a school for troubled youth, until being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old male student. Her verdict came in and she received (and make sure to contast this with Debra Lafave’s fate) eight years in prision:
A former Hillside private school counselor fainted Thursday as she was sentenced to 8 years in prison for having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student.

Trial testimony showed that Miraglia was involved with the 16-year-old between February and May 2004. A second victim, who was 17 at the time, testified Thursday about his sexual relationship with the counselor.
According to trial testimony, she bought the teens alcohol and gave them money to buy marijuana, and shared both with them.
Obviously what she did is a bad thing, but wow. Eight years is a long time.

this sentence is not jusified for the crime.
Contrast the sentences male teachers get. 8 years is a low figure.

8 years is a long time if you didn’t do it.
She will most likely serve 3 years or less, this days they just keep you for half a time and release you do to good conduct. Neways some teachers get the longest time in jail and some just pop out that green and gets off free!!
