Sarah Dickerson is 25 years old, and she was a teacher at U-High in Illinois. She’s charged with five counts of criminal sexual assault:

Yoder said Dickerson and a male student began exchanging e-mail and text messages early in the spring semester. As the correspondence advanced, she invited him to her apartment in the Twin Cities and a sexual relationship developed.
Yoder said the student told authorities he had sex with her on at least seven occasions.
I have a theory that teachers must try to break these relationships off, and then the kids get pissed off and want revenge. I can’t understand otherwise why kids would constantly be turning in their teachers for this sort of thing.
And that’s not an endorsement of what’s going on, I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, I just can’t see teenaged boys running to the authorities because their teacher slept with them.
This theory doesn’t take into account the teachers who get themselves into compromising positions (by attending certain parties, drinking with minors, etc.) and then get blackmailed/ratted out by kids who don’t like them. I think you’re foolish if you think that doesn’t happen. Kids know how much bad publicity one of these claims bring, whether it’s true or not.
But the teachers who really are sleeping with the kid must try to “break up” with them, and most people know that teenage relationships don’t usually end well.

Your theory could be correct in many cases, but in this case, his mother found some of the inappropriate text messages that she had sent him and told the authorities. Many cases are like this one; the student and teacher simply get caught.
I’ve known her for along time I went to church with her for a long time in morton. I can honestly say she is a complete BITCH glad she got busted and ruined her life
You went to church with her for 1 yr. when she was in 6th grade. The only reason she was mean to you was because you picked on her younger brother. Good thing to know that people like you are who makes up our churches – yikes.
In this case we know that the teacher
did not break up with the student… the student wanted to break up with her and she told him that she loved him and that they could make it work. too bad she was wrong what a great teacher.
I have never met anyone as sneaky and dirty as her. Ive seen her try to create fights and stir up trouble amongst her friends. I was completely warned about her but didnt listen to any warnings. She got what she deserved big time!! This time justice will be served. I hope she ends up sharing a jail cell with O.J.
your theory is interesting even if its wrong…its true that she said she loved him and wanted to make it work…however, the student was quite frankly BORED with her. sleeping with a teacher just wasnt exciting enough for him anymore…not to mention sleeping with two other girls at the same time from his class…what im wondering is why he hasnt been punished? he is still at school…still allowed to participate in extracurriclur activities….and why?? haha oh YES i forgot, because hes a VICTIM….right…..knowing him, HE probably SEDUCED her,..honestly..the whole situation disgusts me beyond belief ..
Sarah was my Spanish teacher at Iroquois West (before position at U-High) and I feel that it is about time she was caught and served her justice. While at IW we won the State Football Championship…she would is in class and tell us her sex stories…let alone not doing anything in Spanish class because we had so many football players and she would rather flirt with them.
She was a really nice person. I can’t believe you guys are all like “she deserved it”.
I am very close friends with this student… one night he put her on speaker phone and asked her questions about how good he was in bed, masturbation, etc… she is a complete freak and has mental issues. No sain person would say the kinds of things I heard come out of her mouth to their high school student. She just plead guilty and got 16 months in prison. I wish it was longer because she doesn’t belong in the real world with rational people… she has issues.
Just so everyone knows the truth, and doesn’t have to sound as ignorant as some of the people who have posted here, I will enlighten you all with a little knowledge. First, contrary to what the “Uhigh Insider” seems to think he/she knows, this teacher did not plead guilty, and I’m sure that there’s a pretty good reason not to plead guilty . . . . like there’s no evidence, like the kid and the mother of this kid are both manipulators trying to get anything and everything they can out of this situation. Second, she is not serving “16 months” She was actually given 180 days. Third, she is not and will not be in “prison”. She will be in the McClean County jail. There’s a difference.
This teacher is a good person that got caught up in a bad situation. Before any of you pass judgement on someone else, why don’t you look in your own lives.
It just amazes me to hear people get on places like this and act like they know what’s going on. It just goes to show how pathetic and ignorant many people can be. Wanting and acting like you know what’s going on does not equate to having a shred of knoweledge on any given topic! “It’s better to say nothing and appear intellegent, than to open your mouth and prove your stupidity”.
